Chimney repairs, capping and installing flue liners

One of the most exposed and hardest to reach parts of any building is the chimney. Access via scaffolding can be expensive, time consuming and an inconvenient process, however with the use of our cherry pickers we can reach most chimneys and conduct works with minimal disruption to the occupant.

Capping a chimney pot prevents birds from nesting, should log burners or open fires still wished to be used special bird guard capping can be installed. We can install traditional style clay products to match the chimney stack or there are modern metal alternative products available including decorative capping’s and cowls.

We are also able to assist with the installation of flue liners without the need to have scaffold erected and can carry out general external repairs.

Signs of water ingress after heavy rain or a build up of mould can be due to water penetrating into the chimney or damaged haunching. Older chimneys and disused chimneys are especially at risk.

We can supply and apply special, VOC free weather proofing products that have a lifespan of 25 years and are formulated to treat brickwork and masonry to give an effective strong barrier against penetrating damp by filling porous voids within a substrate without blocking them. This product allows the substrate to breathe, preventing moisture buildup. This is a clear product once dry so is suitable for use in conservation areas and on listed buildings.
